Greetings from NYC and NeoGAF (possibly to Chris' dismay); my friend recommended me to this site. I saw that you've covered Go Go Curry, great place to eat.

Might I add a couple of other suggestions? I don't think many restaurants (if any) in the city will offer the diversity of toppings and authenticity that a place like Go Go will offer, but you might still like the food. These places might not necessarily be fancy, but it seems like they'll certain beat out Manpuku and Volcano (watered down Curry? Really?)

Yagura - 41st and Madison (no name out front, next to travel agency)

    Men Kui Tei - 3rd ave and 6th st, W 56th St bet. 5th and 6th aves.

    Sapporo - 49th st bet. 6th and 7th aves.

Seems like you guys are based mainly out of the West coast, so I guess you might not get to these places soon. However, if you're looking for new places in the area to try, they're fine places to start.

I don't suppose you'd be interested in having someone go eat grotesque amounts of curry and review them for you...?

I have a couple of spots to add also as I'm based in NYC as well.

I love Go Go, seriously considering entering their curry eating competition hehe.

    Hiroko's Place
    75 Thompson St.
Cute cafe/restaturant with couches, custom artwork, manga and newspapers to go with homestyle japanese food like curry rice, omurice (made to look like AnPan man!) and Spaghetti Neapolitan.

Udon West on St. Marks Place.
One of my favorite palces to get combo meals. Udon plus curry, udon plus bef bowl, etc...

    Curry-Ya
    214 E. 10th St.
Havent tried it yet but it's sister restaurant Rai Rai Ken is a good spot for ramen and I have confidence it'll be good. I hope it'll be great as it's much closer to me than Go Go hehe.

I volunteer my tounge and my camera to add to the reviews as well :-D

  3. It seems like NYC is the Japanese curry place to be. I think I might have to compile a giant list of NYC curry places and have natives like you guys to vote on!

I've been meaning to try Tokyo Bar

Shimizu also does yoshoku for lunch as well. I havent tried yet either.

Aburiya Kinnosuke does a really good wagyu curry lunch set on mondays. I think its better than go go curry by a mile.
